Souvenir from the London Book Fair

Just back from an inspiring, fun and very crowded London Book fair! Here are a few souvenirs.

The Hunger Games have sold over 35 million copies in the United States alone, making Scholastic one happy publisher – the representative I met with couldn’t stop smiling!

AND

all anyone was talking about and pretending not to be talking about was J.K. Rowling’s first novel for adults The Casual Vacancy.

To be published in the Fall, here is what Little, Brown has announced about the book we will all await with breathless anticipation…..because how do you follow up on Harry Potter?

“When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock.

Seemingly an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.

Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems.

And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?”

Well…..we’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?
