Royal Rebel is the first in a new series inspired by Carina’s desire to create an alternative ‘princess story’; a ‘Queendom’ where girls can fall in love with the fairy- tale lifestyle whilst feeling empowered by a world where they are the decision-makers.
Lily Waldenburg is in many ways a normal teenager. She loves fashion, her dog Coco, her guinea pig Zoë and sleepovers with her best friend Leonie. She dreams of being a fashion vlogger, and when her videos on her style vlog ‘Tiara Girl’ begin to take off, Lily knows this is her chance to succeed. But Lily is also a princess. First in line to the Queendom of Waldenburg – a matriarchal and matrilineal society - she has her royal responsibilities to think about – ‘Queen-to-be stuff’ that she must learn before she comes of age next year…

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Carina Axelsson was born and raised in Northern California. Carina started to write as soon as she could read although her great passion was creating comic strips – a fusion of her growing love of illustration and storytelling. After school she was offered a modelling contract and moved to New York where she enjoyed a jet-setting modelling career which saw her starring in advertising and magazine campaigns across the globe, including shoots for Vogue and Elle. Her first book, Nigel of Hyde Park, a picture book for 4-6 years olds about a frizzy haired dragon was published by Assouline in 2004.
After modelling, Carina rounded out her fashion days with a job as PA to British fashion designer John Galliano based at the fashion house Christian Dior. It was during this time that she wrote the first notes about a girl detective who solves fashion mysteries. These notes later became A Crime of Fashion (Usborne, 2014) the first book in her bestselling fashion detective series, Model Under Cover.
