We are delighted to announce an evening with two esteemed Danish poets: Pia Tafdrup and Jens Fink. Each poet will present a selection of their poems, recently translated and published in English. Following the readings, there will be an engaging dialogue between the poets and the audience. Join us for an inspiring literary event!

About the Poets

Pia Tafdrup

Pia Tafdrup has received the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 1999 and the Nordic Prize in 2006 from The Swedish Academy. Pia Tafdrup has published 20 collections of poetry. Her first book When an Angel Breaks her Silence was published in 1981. Among others: The Salamander Quartet (2002-2012): Tarkovsky´s Horses & Other Poems 2010, Bloodaxe) and (Salamander Sun & Other Poems 2015, Bloodaxe). Latest in Denmark The Five SensesThe Taste of Steel (2014), The Smell of Snow (2016), The Sight of Light (2018), The Sound of Clouds (2020) and The Touch of Skin (2022). The Taste of Steel & The Smell of Snow, Bloodaxe 2021. Pia Tafdrup has also published a poetics Walking over the Water, two plays and two novels. Her poems are translated into more than 30 languages in books, magazines and anthologies. Jens Fink-Jensen

Jens Fink-Jensen is the author of various poetry collections, short stories, children’s books and a travel book. A selection of 65 of his poems in English translation, A Sea of Expectations, was published in 2022. In 1999, his third poetry collection, Nær afstanden (Near the Distance,1988), was published in Arabic, and in 2012 and 2016, two volumes of his poetry were published in Polish. Some of his poems have, among other languages, also been published in English, Greek, Persian, Serbian, Spanish, and Swedish. His travel book The West Coast of Europe – a photographic journey from Skagen to Gibraltar with his own photos was published in English in 2008. He has performed at various venues including music and literature festivals, high schools and libraries combining poetry, music and photos.
