We are delighted to host a special evening on the topic of how parents create the best possible conditions for their children to succeed, both on the court and in life?
All parents want to support their children. Yet many experience that their well-intended advice is either not heard or has the opposite effect.
This evening is about how we as parents can support our tennis playing children’s well-being, learning, and development. Not only with a focus on results here and now, but on the person the child is becoming.
Using tennis as the context, we explore how sport can be a powerful tool for developing character traits such as responsibility, courage, perseverance, and independence. Qualities that extend far beyond the court.
The focus is on the parental role before, during, and after matches. On timing, behaviour, and choice of words. And on when it is most helpful to say something, and when it is best to hold back.
The talk is based on the book Winning Words, but the themes are universal. The same mechanisms apply when children face exams, difficult conversations, or situations where they are performing in something that truly matters to them.
The evening is practical, reflective, and will not include without raised fingers:-)
