We are pleased to welcome Henriette Harris, author of De var os. En bog om snublesten (They Were Us), a powerful book about the Stolpersteine project.
The evening will feature a conversation between Henriette and Isabella, focusing on Stolpersteine—also known as "stumbling stones"—the artwork and memorial created by German artist Gunter Demnig in 1995 to honor the victims of Nazi persecution between 1933 and 1945.
In the last 30 years, 116.000 Stolpersteine have been installed in 31 European countries. Henriette Harris is one of the founders of Snublesten Danmark and her book tells the story of some of the people who have been commemorated in Denmark. She also writes about the artist and his way to creating the Stolpersteine and brings the reader to the three European cities, Oslo, Berlin and Milan.
The talk will be in English and the book will be for sale in Danish.
