We are delighted to welcome collage artist Sophie Klerk for a special evening of creativity.
Join us as we explore her artistic process, delve into the inspirations behind her work, and enjoy a warm, engaging atmosphere where imagination takes center stage. This special event offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Sophie’s unique approach to collage and the stories her art brings to life.
Driven by curiosity and a willingness to embrace the unknown, Sophie experiments with the interaction between papers, colours, shades, textures, thread, paint, and photographs. Her composed and carefully stitched collages often reflect the previous lives of these materials. Working intuitively, she builds visual narratives in which chaos gradually transforms into order, wholeness, and new meaning.
During the workshop, the theme will be to create a personal collage—a small visual memory—based on a special moment from the previous week. Sophie will share more about the concept and guide you through the process during the session.
About Sophie Klerk
Sophie Klerk is a Danish collage artist. She has previously lived and worked in the Netherlands, England, Mexico and most recently in New Zealand, all part of shaping her unique, minimalist and expressive style.
