Visible Mending Workshop: Resilience – Resistance – Reinvention
Are you curious about learning how to repair and refresh the clothes already in your wardrobe? By joining this workshop you will receive an introduction to using needle and thread to extend the life of your favourite garments.
Embroidery is a mindful, hands-on craft. It invites a sense of calm and slowness, offering the opportunity to pause, enjoy a cup of tea, let your hands do the work, and simply be. And there is something deeply satisfying about repairing something instead of replacing it.
In this Visible Mending workshop, we'll explore repair—not to hide holes, but to celebrate them. Visible mending is much more than a practical sewing technique; it's a creative and meaningful practice built around three guiding principles:
Resilience
When we repair our clothes, we strengthen them and extend their lifespan. But the process also strengthens us. The rhythm of stitching creates an analogue pause, allowing the nervous system to settle and offering a welcome break from the pace of everyday life.
Resistance
Choosing to repair instead of throwing something away and buying new is a quiet but powerful act of resistance. Together, we'll challenge our throwaway culture and celebrate the value of slow craftsmanship.
Reinvention
A hole is not a flaw—it's a canvas. Rather than trying to restore a garment exactly as it once was, we'll reinvent it with beautiful stitches and colourful details, creating something unique, personal, and often even more beautiful than before.
The workshop will primarily focus on repairing knitted textiles. If you have a favourite sweater with a small hole, you're very welcome to bring it along, and we'll look at how to mend it together.

No previous sewing or embroidery experience is required. The workshop is designed as a calm, sensory, and welcoming space where you can immerse yourself in making. You'll receive:

About Signe Møller Jensen
Signe Møller Jensen is an experienced and versatile creative, concept developer, and textile designer with more than 15 years of experience creating visual identities and product universes within interiors, fashion, and children's design. Her background ranges from working with international design companies and running her own brand, Fnubbu, to recently founding her own design agency, August Studio. She takes a strategic and hands-on approach to the entire design process, combining creative vision with tactile craftsmanship.
Signe Møller Jensen’s expertise spans from early trend forecasting and collection development to textile and print design, product development, and the final stages of storytelling and styling. Her latest passion is sharing the joy of working with your hands—particularly embroidery as a form of repair through the practice of Visible Mending.
